Description
Our natural clove leaf essential oil for drinks is obtained from the species Syzygium aromaticum. In international practice, the liquid is designated as Clove natural essential oil for drinks. The liquid originates from an evergreen tree, which botanists classify among the members of the Myrtaceae family. The tree is cultivated naturally in Bulgaria, and the leaves of its crown remain the sole raw material for extracting the essential oil of this species. The leaves develop oil glands with a rich volatile content. Steam distillation separates only the volatile molecules from the raw material, which is why the aromatic profile of the product retains its natural fidelity and remains clearly defined. The clear profile rests on an entirely natural base, in which preservatives and colourants are absent. Natural cultivation supports this base, as the trees grow without synthetic intervention. The aroma is strong and rich, and the spicy and woody tones go side by side. The tone carries over into a liquid consistency with a light brown to light yellow shade. The light shade of the liquid depends on the plant part used, because the leaves yield a pale coloured distillate during the gentle extraction of the volatile substances. Eugenol lies at the heart of the spicy strength. Beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humulene contribute the woody part of the profile. Eugenyl acetate joins them and thus complements the volatile range of the clove oil, which retains its rich spiciness. In addition, the Bulgarian origin gives the raw material a well-defined botanical source and a clear botanical affiliation.
Application
Clove leaves are widely used in the production of drinks, where they are valued for their expressive spicy and woody aroma. The essential oil is used in the creation of spiced wines, mulled wines and traditional winter recipes, in which the warm, rich profile of the spice emphasises the festive character of the drink. It is also used in herbal liqueurs and tonic elixirs, where it adds depth and body without dominating the other aromatic components. Oriental and spiced teas are another typical field of application, in which the oil contributes to a rich, warm and balanced taste. In the cocktail industry, it combines successfully with cinnamon, ginger and orange, forming characteristic winter and festive blends with pronounced sensory fullness. It is also suitable for functional products with a traditional profile, where an authentic spicy accent is sought in combination with other herbal and fruity notes. Thanks to its high concentration of aromatic compounds, the product is dosed in minimal quantities, and even a small dose ensures a lasting and recognisable aroma in the finished drink. It is also used successfully in non-alcoholic mixes and iced teas, where it adds a spicy freshness and prolongs the sensory experience of the drink. It is compatible with formulations developed in accordance with European requirements for the flavouring of this type of product, which makes it a suitable choice for manufacturers seeking a natural and functional component with an expressive flavour profile.
